The origin:

Established in 1995 Gallaghers' WhereUBrew quickly become a valued public house fixture in the Puget Sound.  First opened as a BOP (brew on premises) microbrewery in 1995 in downtown Edmonds, WA.  The public microbrewery buisness flourished and it wasn't long before they started to outgrow the space. The final straw came with building leasing issues.

In 2010 the Gallaghers' had to make some tough decisions. They had to move to a larger space, they had to move the brewery - which would be a most expensive and physically challenging endeavor.  Just think of moving or recreating all the unique plumbing & refrigeration and boiler and other requirements of a brewery.

The New Brewery Build:

From '95 to 2010 - (15 years), The Gallaghers' brewery developed a league of customers and friends with a social and personal interest in the brewery.  The league of brewery friends had a variety of backgrounds and possessed many talents.  As the Gallaghers’ pondered the complexities and expenses of moving the Brewery; a contingency plan began to emerge.  With volunteer help from the league of friends they all decided to Build a New Brewery.  A vacant building was found, and Del Cross (a Mug Club brewer since '95), became the construction project manager along with a long list of talented hard working help from the league which enabled the Gallaghers’ to build a new brewery.

It was a bold move, a challenging and risky endeavor to close the old brewery and build the new brewery as fast as possible in order to re-open and get business going again.  They closed the old brewery in December of 2010 and Opened the new Brewery at the end of January 2011 – just over 30 days from start to finish.  An amazing feat.  A huge appreciation and congratulations with a “job well done” to all the friends who helped so much to make this possible.
